Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) appealed to the Hindus to be ready for highest sacrifices for re-construction of Sri Ramjanmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. In a resolution adopted at the joint meeting of Central Board of Trustees and Governing Council of VHP organised in Indore from December 21 to 23, the VHP requested the saints assembling at the Purna Kumbh in Hardwar to finalise action plan for construction of the temple.

“The Central Board of Trustees of Vishwa Hindu Parishad unequivocally reiterates this truth that the site where Sri Ramlala is viraajmaan (seats) today was the site of Sri Ramjanmabhoomi. It is Sri Ramjanmabhoomi and will remain Sri Ramjanmabhoomi. The Hindu society wishes to see a grand Sri Ram temple there. It is also the bitter truth of history that the foreign invader Babur demolished the grand Sri Ramjanmabhoomi temple in the year 1528 CE. The Hindus mounted 76 battles and lakhs of them became martyrs in order to regain control of the site to reclaim the national self-esteem. The struggle to reclaim the Janmabhoomi has since been continuing and will continue until a grand temple comes up at the site,” the resolution said.

The resolution further said many symbols of slavery were evident even after Independence and the Government of Bharat reclaimed the national glory by removing those symbols, e.g., reconstruction of Sri Somnath temple, removal of portraits of foreigners from the galleries of the Parliament House and removal of a Briton’s statue from India Gate periphery. “The process of removing the symbols of slavery has still been continuing that is evident as renaming of cities, e.g., Madras to Chennai, Trivandrum to Thiruvananthapuram, Calcutta to Kolkata, Bombay to Mumbai and Orissa to Odisha. Acting on these lines the Hindu society bravely removed the symbol of slavery superimposed on Sri Ramjanmabhoomi and reclaimed the site on December 06, 1992. The Central Government and all the political parties ought to see and accept this glorious event as a matter of re-establishment of national self-esteem.

Rejecting the conclusions of the Liberhan Commission Report of Inquiry in toto, the Central Board of Trustees of VHP urged the Government to reject this bundle of lies and restore the national glory. The meeting also demanded to reject the Rangnath Mishra Committee report.
