Pujya Swami Omanand Maharaj of Shukratal also bestowed his blessings on the conference on the opening day.

On the first day, Captain (Retd) Ajay Singh Yadav, Irrigation and Finance Minister of Haryana, was the chief guest and he was so convinced and impressed by the proceedings of the conference that immediately after arrival at Chandigarh, he announced full support of the state government to the Saraswati River revival project and sanctioned a sum of Rs. 10.50 crore for revival of this project. The function was presided over by Lt Gen (Retd) DS Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor of Kurukshetra University. He was conferred the title of “Saraswati Putra” by Pujya Shankaracharya.
