RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat described the Liberhan Commission report as ‘wastage of time and money’. Talking to mediapersons in Chandigarh on December 5 he said whatever has come out about the Report in the media indicates that the same thing could have been said in 1993 itself and there was no need to waste so much time and money on it for 17 years. “The report is full of factual errors and now there is a big question mark over its credibility too,” he said.
Shri Bhagwat made it clear that there was no conspiracy or planning behind the demolition of the disputed structure and it was a spontaneous reaction from the karsewaks whose sentiments and emotions had repeatedly been hurt.
“Whatever Liberhan Commission said in its Report is now before the country. The Commission has just repeated what some people had already been saying against the temple movement. I have recently read the comments of two judges in newspapers who opined that retired judges should not be entrusted the task of conducting such enquires as it puts a question mark over the credibility of the enquiry. I think the comments of these judges are sufficient and throw sufficient light over the status of Liberhan Commission Report also,” he added.
Shri Bhagwat said there was no question for the Sangh to regret for what had happened and maintained that the Sangh’s full support to the Ram temple movement would continue.
