“The borders of the country are unsafe. There are internal security threats too. The talks of their solutions are going on but there is no solution appears at the surface. The reason is that no effort was made to awaken the national chetna and purusharth of the countrymen,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat. He was addressing a massive gathering of uniformed swayamsevaks and general public in Jabalpur on November 1.

The whole city was turned saffron for this function as Shri Mohan Bhagwat was visiting the city for the first time after becoming the Sarsanghachalak. All the people attending the function were provided with Ramprasad, collected from about 120 bastis of the city. When the ground was packed to its capacity over 15,000 people had to listen to the speech of the Sarsanghachalak only standing outside the ground.

In the beginning the swayamsevaks of Mahakaushal Prant offered Sarsanghachalak Pranam to the new Sarsanghachalak. It was followed by physical exercises and a display of ghosh. The swayamsevaks from Mandala and Chhindwada Vibhags displayed danda, Reeva and Shahadol Vibhags presented niyuddha, Sagar Vibhag yogchap, Satana Vibhag samata and Chhatarpur Vibhag displayed ghosh. The yoga and Suryanamaskar were presented jointly by all the swayamsevaks. Kshetra Sanghachalak Shrikrishna Maheshwari, Prant Sanghachalak Shri Shankar Prasad Tamrakar and Sah-Prant Sanghachalak Dr Govind Mishra also shared the dais.

Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included veteran worker and Member of RSS National Executive Shri Surendra Singh Chauhan, Kshetra Pracharak Shri Vinod Kumar, senior workers Shri Ramdutt Chakradhar and Shri Madhav Vidvans.

Shri Bhagwat emphasised that the solution to all the problems the world is facing today lies in the philosophy of Hindutva. He said the solution to the problems that our own country is facing today could also be found only in the Hindutva way of life.

Talking about the economic development of the country, he said we earlier tried to follow the US and former USSR model of development and are now trying to imitate China but the fact is that we can make sustainable progress only by following our own traditional model of development. He affirmed that only the cow-based village-centric model of development would solve our economic problem and would also lead the nation onto the path of sustainable development.

Referring to the 1,57,000 service projects being run by swayamsevaks in remote areas of the country, Shri Bhagwat appealed to the countrymen to emulate the Sangh’s path of service and the good forces of the country should join hands together to take the nation to the pinnacle of prosperity. He also appealed to the people to join the Sangh activities to understand the organisation properly.
