West Bengal unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad along with various social and religious organisations of West Bengal strongly protested against the Bangla film, Challange Nibi Na Sala, which shows a keertan Bhaj Gourango Laha Gouranga in very objectionable way. At Nabadwip Dham, a group of persons belonging to Nagrik Samiti protested in front of the cinema hall showing the picture. Many ashrams and matts also joined the protest including the ashram of Mahaprabhu'sbirthplace. The VHP and other organisations arranged a Sankirtan Protest Yatra on April 17, starting from Subodh Mullick Square to Metro Cinema Hall which was led by prominent saints including Swami Tejesanand of Burdwan, Swami Parasar Ramanuj Maharaj of Nabadwip, Swami Kuldanand Tirthanad of Kolkata, Swami Lokeswaranand Maharaj of Katwa, Swami Shiva Chaitanya Brahmachari of Howrah, Sri Paramatmanand Bhairab of Kolkata, Swami Bandhu Gourab Maharaj of Prabhu Jagat Bandhu Ashram, Kolkata, Swami Aagamanand of North 24 Parganas and Brahmachari Tilak Maharaj of Bharat Sevashram Sangh and others. The producer of the film M/s Venkatesh Films (P) Ltd., was demanded the immediately remove the objectionable song from the film.
