Samskrit Bharati resolved to teach the original version of Bhagwat Geeta to the masses. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held in Kurukshetra from February 14 to 15. Special centres will be started for conducting such classes and training to the teachers will be imparted in Trishur (Kerala), Madurai (Tamil Nadu), Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), Bargarh (Orissa) and Nalbar (Assam) in May and June this year. The teaching of the Geeta will begin from July. The textbooks in two volumes have already been prepared.

The meeting was inaugurated by Akhil Bharatiya Sah Bauddhik Pramukh of RSS Shri Dattatreya Hosbale. The state presidents, secretaries and organising secretaries of 18 states participated in the meeting. The meeting was informed that 16 state conventions were held last year in which a total of 5156 delegates, including 2151 women, from 744 places of 203 districts took part.

The second important decision taken by the meeting was to meet all the aspiring candidates in coming Lok Sabha elections to request to take the oath in Samskrit if they are elected. The text of the oath will also be provided to all the candidates by Samskrit Bharati activists.

Samskrit Bharati published three books? Samartha Swami Ramdas, Hutatma Padmini and Mahatma Tukaram?under the banner of Mahadev Shastry Granth Mala. Shri Dattatreya Hosbale released these books written by Shi Revaprasad Dwivedi.

All India Project Incharge of Samskrit Bharati Shri Shreesh Deopujari informed the gathering that a total of 631 people including 32 from foreign countries?USA, England, Australia, Ireland, New Zeland, South Korea, Nicaragua and Nepal?participated in the Samavd Shala from May 2008 to January this year. The participants included 134 women, 38 Ph.Ds and M.Phils, 143 post-graduates, 43 B.Eds, 259 graduates and 148 others. He pointed out that the number of the students taking Sanskrit as a selective subject in UPSC examination, is increasing day-by-day and such students also undergo training at the Samvad Shala.
