?Our saints have talked about fighting against terror. Therefore it becomes our duty to follow the ideals and teachings of our gurus and Shri Guru Granth Sahib and eliminate the enemy of humanity i.e. terrorism,? said RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Madan Das. He was speaking at a function held in Mumbai to celebrate 300 years of Shri Guru Granth Saheb as Sikh guru. Rashtriya Sikh Sangat president Sardar Gurucharan Singh Gill presided over the function. Smt Surjit Kaur Jolly, educationalist was the chief guest.

Prior to the function, Sangh swayamsevaks took out a path sanchalan from Dadar Grounds to Narepark in which more than 500 uniformed swayamsevaks participated. Before reaching the Narepark, the path sanchalan reached a Gurudwara where all the swayamsevaks paid respect to Shri Guru Granth Saheb and also had prasad.

Shri Madan Das further said Guru Gobind Singh and Dr Hedgewar by establishing Shri Guru Granth Saheb and bhagwa dhwaj as gurus respectively have granted the society the inspiring legacies. Whatever has been written in Shri Guru Granth Saheb is guruwani to be followed by all Hindus. He said Guru Govind Singh sacrificed his entire family for the protection of the society from the atrocities of the then ruler Aurangzeb. We should pay respect to such great personalities everyday, he added.

Sardar Gurucharan Singh Gill said Shri Guru Granth Saheb is joint legacy of the nation. It has messages of all the gurus belonging to all languages. He expressed concern over the conflicts surfacing over languages, regions, castes, etc. He said the 300-year of Shri Guru Granth Saheb is the symbol of social harmony.

Smt Surjit Kaur Jolly said atrocities, violence and terror could be tolerated only to an extent but when they cross limits one has to take up the weapons. She said Shri Guru Granth Saheb has the gist of all the Vedas, Upanishdas and Geeta. Konkan Prant Sanghachalak Shri Bapusaheb Mokashi and former Union Minister Shri Ram Naik were also present on the occasion.
