Sangh Samachar Guru Ta Gaddi Gurpurv begins in Nanded

After the grand reception of ?Chalo Guru Ke Dwar Abhiwadan Yatra?, conducted by Varkari samaj, the followers of Bhagat Sahiban Namdevji Maharaj, the atmosphere of whole Maharashtra was charged to celebrate the Guru Ta Gaddi Gurpurv at Takht Sachkhand Shri Hazur Sahib in Nanded. The way hundreds of Maharashtrian women gathered at Takht Sahib chanting Satnam Waheguru was an amazing experience.

It is basically the concluding ceremony of the year long activities on completion of 300 years of Shri Guru Granth Sahib as Sikh Guru. Prior to it, a Jagriti Yatra was taken out all over the country including some parts of the world. The Yatra had begun on November 15, 2007 and concluded in Nanded Sahib on October 30.

After performing ardas at Takht Sahib, Sardar Jagjivan Jot Singh Anand, Prakosth Pramukh of Sangat Prakashan, received VHP general secretary Dr Pravin Togadia for Langar Bhai Laloji, arranged by the Sangat Sewa Samiti near Abichalnagar. At the langar site, Sardar Chiranjiv Singh, founder of Rashtriya Sikh Sangat and Dr Jaswinder Singh, general secretary of the Sangat welcomed the saints including Sant Krishandas Namdas Maharaj and Dr Togadia. It was the inaugural day of the Langar Bhai Laloji.

The presence of Dr Togadia was the prime attraction of ?Chalo Guru Ke Dwar Abhiwadan Yatra?. Talking to media persons he said we all are brothers, have same ancestors, same traditional way of defending the society and have Shri Guru Granth Sahib as the guru in the form of Gurbani, which declares that Indian society is one.

The Yatra began from Pandharpur on October 18 and reached Takht Sachkhand Shri Hazur Sahib on October 23. The whole Sangat welcomed Sant Krishandas Namdas Maharaj, whose ancestor Bhagat Sahiban Namdevji'svani is part of Shri Guru Granth Sahib, at the Takht premises. He was accompanied by Shri Jitendernath Maharaj Anjansurjiker, Hari Bhakt Prayan Bhagwan Maharaj Anandgarhker, Narayan Maharaj Shinde and VHP general secretary Dr Pravin Togaria.

Talking to media persons on October 26, Dr Prashant Peshker of Sangat Sewa Samiti explained how the Samiti came up with an innovative way of vacating the houses for Sangat to stay. These houses are vacated by the sewadars of the Samiti. In a pandal created near langar site about 1000 yatris can stay. The Samiti also arranged two schools, which have the capacity staying 2000 people. The Samiti managed some space in halls and religious places also for 1000 devotees.

At 6.00 am on October 27, the Takht snan ceremony was performed. First the traditional ardas was performed by Baba Kulwant Singh, Jathedar, Takht Hazur Sahib. He was along with Giani Iqbal Singh, Jathedar Takht Patna Sahib and Bhai Trilochan Singh, Jathedar Takht Keshgarh. After katha and ardas, shastras (weapons) were taken out for snan and public display. Sangat came in thousand and brought water from the river Godawari.
