A six-member delegation of Rashtra Sevika Samiti, headed by Akhil Bharatiya Sahakarya-vahika Smt. Asha Sharma, visited Jammu and met the family members of those who sacrificed their lives during the agitation for Shri Amarnath Shrine Board land. The delegation reached Jammu on September 1 and first met Shri Leelakaran Sharam who led the agitation and congratulated him for achieving success.
Later the delegation met the family members of the victims. After meeting them the delegation realised how mercilessly the police behaved even with those who sacrifice their lives for the country and the motherland. They also met the wife of the late Kuldip Singh who had sacrificed his life at a dharna site. His wife explained the delegation how some policemen misbehaved with her and insulted the dead body of her husband. The police personnel even torn her clothes. The police also torn the clothes of a municipal councilor Smt. Mandu during the agitation. A protestor Shri Ramesh was killed by a policeman named Shaukat Ali by pushing him down from the fourth floor of a building. The delegation also met the family members of Dr Balwant who committed suicide due to the atrocities perpetuated to the agitators. The delegation demanded action against the erring police personnel and the women who became widow and that help should be provided to them throughout their life.
