RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri K.S. Sudarshan appealed for the help of Bihar flood victims. In a statement issued through RSS central office secretary Shri Ram Narayan from Nagpur on September 4, Shri Sudarshan appealed to the people of the country to come forward to help their fateful brothers and sisters at this hour of crisis. He said at the moment it is difficult to evaluate the actual loss of property and human lives. ?Hundreds of villages have been washed by the flood and innumerable people and cattle have been died. Apart from the other countrymen the RSS swayamsevaks are also engaged in relief activities in the affected areas. Soon after receiving the news of heavy floods in Madhepura, Saharasa, Supaul, Arariya and Purnia districts of Bihar the swayamsevaks have swung into action. Badh Rahat Sahayata Samiti in Saharasa and Badh Peedit Sahayata Samiti in Muzaffarpur were constituted and 21 relief centers at seven places are being run under the banner of both these Samitis. Providing dry food and medicines and keeping the people in relief camps are primarily being done in these relief camps. There are about 4000 flood-affected people in the camps. Besides it thousands of affected people are being provided with meals everyday,? he said in the statement.

He said the RSS was in the process of formulating extensive plans for rehabilitation of the flood victims after the primary relief work. The flood victims immediately need foodgrains (arhar daal and rice), mustard oil, potato, gram, milk powder, plastic sheets, tin sheets, medicines, clothes like sarees, lungis, dhoti, gamachha and clothes for children etc. This material can directly be sent to RSS Office, Vijay Niketan, 6-E, Rajendra Nagar, Patna-800 016, Phone: 0612-2673200 and mobile phone No. 09431012742 (Rajesh). Money is also needed for purchasing the required material and also for the further rehabilitation of the flood victims. Money can be sent in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Bharati Shiksha Samiti (Baadh Sahayata Kosh), Patna or amount can be deposited in the Account No 0357101021984, Canera Bank, Patna. The Bharati Shiksha Samiti has exemption of income tax under 80G.
