Jashoda Sadan, a home for destitute and orphan children in Cuttack run by RSS, has completed eight years. A colourful function was held at the premises of the Sadan to celebrate the occasion. Speaking on the occasion former judge of Orissa High Court Shri Chowdhuri Pratap Kesari Mishra said the children are the future of the nation and they should be nourished as per the Indian traditions. Noted Oriya writer Dr Ratnakar Chaini emphasised on casteless society. Shri Sangram Keshari Patra, secretary of Jashoda Sadan, pointed out that super cyclone of 1999 compelled the RSS to provide shelter to these destitute children whose families were devastated in the calamity.

Swami Pranarupananda Saraswati of Ramakrishna Mission was felicitated on the occasion for his contribution to the institution. Shri Khatau Sundar Das, Shri Keshabananda C. Munjal, Dr Narayan Modi, Shri Anil Kumar Lenka, Shri Nilamber Sahoo, Shri Satish Goenka and Shri Aswini Kumar Satpathy were also felicitated for their valuable contribution to the institution. The website of the Sadan is www.jashoda.org.
