National co-convener of Shiksha Bachao Andolan Samiti Shri Atul Kothari said the students in the country need health education and not sex education. ?It is wrong to say that people are dying only due to AIDS. They are also dying due to various other diseases like cholera, diarrhoea, malaria and tuberculosis. Our government has not given much importance and publicity for eradication of these diseases. It is thinking more about AIDS and spending more money on this. There is no mechanism to study the aftermath of the introduction of sex education among the students,? he said.
Shri Kothari was speaking at a function held at Visakhapatnam by Vidya Samrakshana Samiti on April 24. Prof. D. Visweswaram, general secretary of Bharatiya Sikshana Mandal presided over the function.
Shri Kothari further said the Government of India is thinking against the traditional system of the country and is giving wide publicity to condoms blindly following the dictates of UNO. He said it would deteriorate the relationship between guru and shishya. ?The moral values have already come down due to obscenity in movies and television channels. Today, everybody wants moral values in education. Even in foreign countries yoga is given priority in schools and colleges, but in our own country it is neglected,? he said. He appealed to the government to think of eradicating different disease instead of wasting time and money over AIDS. He also appealed to the people of the country to oppose the vicious designs of foreign countries, which are trying to uproot our age-old Indian family system.
