RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri K.S. Sudarshan has said that resolving the Tibet problem is in the interest of India. As long as Tibet is in the grip of China, India too is not safe. In fact, it is because of the mistakes of successive Congress Prime Ministers that Tibet went into the clutches of China and now India should try to help realise the aspirations of Tibetan people. He was speaking at the Pratinidhi Sabha of Bharat-Tibet Sahyog Manch held in Dharmashala, Himachal Pradesh, from October 25 to 26.
Shri Sudarshan had a meeting with the Dalai Lama for about an hour. He was accompanied by former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, RSS Uttar Kshetra Pracharak Shri Dinesh Kumar, patron of Bharat-Tibet Sahayog Manch Shri Indresh Kumar and national convener of the Manch Dr Kuldip Agnihotri. Shri Sudarshan also presented the Dalai Lama a set of Shri Guruji Samagra, a shawl and the traditional cap of Kinnaur.
The Dalai Lama expressed concern that a large number of Chinese are being settled in Tibet and Tibetans are becoming minority in their own country. The new railway line from Gormo to Lhasa has also helped in growing the number of Chinese in Tibet. He said he was trying to resolve the problem of Tibet through peaceful means. Shri Sudarshan assured the Dalai Lama that the Sangh fully supports all his efforts to keep the cultural identity of Tibet. The Dalai Lama expressed thanks to the RSS and its associated organisations for supporting the cause of Tibet.
Later, speaking at the convention held on October 26 to celebrate the birth centenary of Shri Guruji, Shri Sudarhan said Tibet should be returned to Tibetans. He said communism, church and jehadi Islam represent the negative energy and all these forces are commonly dangerous for both Tibet and India. Describing America as the patron of all these forces, he said ultimately the dharma would emerge victorious. India should unite the countries which are with the truth and should pressurise the Chinese government so that it sets Tibet free. He said both Tibet and India could jointly spread the message of peace in the world.
Prof. Samdong Rimpochhe, Prime Minister of Tibetan government in exile, while presiding over the function, expressed satisfaction that Indians always supported the cause of Tibet and the RSS has been quite vocal to their cause. Speaker of the Tibetan government in exile Shri Karma Chho Phel and Deputy Speaker Smt. Dolma Geiri were also present on the occasion.
Shri Indresh Kumar said all people supporting the cause of Tibet would organise a massive rally from Ramlila Grounds to Chinese Embassy in New Delhi on October 2 next year and people from across the country would participate in the rally. The Chinese government would be demanded at the rally to stop atrocities against Tibetans, help in resolving the problem of Tibet as per the wishes of Tibetans and also return the land of India that it had illegally occupied in 1962.
The Pratinidhi Sabha demanded the Government of India to come forward for the resolution of Tibetan problem. Through a resolution the meeting expressed concern that the Government of India has not played an effective role for resolving the Tibetan problem. ?It is the moral duty of India and also necessary for the security of the country that India should pressurise the Chinese government that it should resolve the problem of Tibet according to the wishes of the Dalai Lama,? the resolution said.
In another resolution, the convention said the construction of railway line from Gormo to Lhasa is a danger to the existence of Tibet and also for the security of Tibet. The resolution said through this railway line, China is trying to settle more Chinese people in Tibet to create demographic imbalance in the region. The resolution called upon the Government of India that it should review its security in view of the construction of this railway line. The meeting also condemned the killing of innocent Tibetans at Nepal-Tibet border by the Chinese army. (FOC)
