?National interest is connected with our culture. It is supreme for every countryman belonging to any section, community, religion or caste. Everyone should keep in mind this culture of the country. There should be an open discussion on unity, integrity and social harmony in the country and development of the feeling of social harmony is necessary for the strength of the country,? said Shri Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah of RSS. He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of 16th Haryana state convention of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) held in Hisar recently.

Shri Bhagwat said a number of anti-social elements were trying to divide the country in the name of caste and religion and there are also people who are repeatedly trying to destabilise the country. He called upon the labour organisations actively working for protecting the workers? interest, to keep in mind the national interest. Shri Bhagwat exhorted that every countryman should contribute in realising the dreams of President Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Omprakash Aggi, national organising secretary of BMS said both the central and state governments were enacting anti-worker policies. He said the BMS would oppose tooth and nail the proposed policy to stop pension of employees under the new Pension Scheme. He said the Prime Minister had assured to constitute the Sixth Pay Commission before the Budget session of Parliament but during the Budget session there was not even its mention and it has been put in the cold storage. Criticising the central government'sminimum employment guarantee scheme, he demanded the implementation of schemes that ensure employment for the whole year. Coming down heavily on the labour policy enacted by the Haryana government, he said it was only for protecting the interest of the multinational companies.

The convention elected Shri Karan Singh, state president, Shri Jangbahadur Yadav as working president and Shri Sohanlal Gupta as general secretary. Shri Krishan Chand Mishra was elected joint organising secretary.
