The birth-centenary year celebration of Shri Guruji will be inaugurated in Orissa on April 8 with a function at Chakapad in Kandhamal district. According to Shri Gopal Prashad Mohapatra, general secretary of the celebration committee, seven mahayajnas have been planned as part of the three-day inauguration programme including the installation of a temple dedicated to Birupakhya Mahadev. The seven mahayajnas included Ghruta yajna, Deepa yajna, Nama yajna, Gyana yajna, Seva yajna, Anna yajna and Dharma Jagaran yajna. Eight raths (chariots) dedicated to eight popular goddesses will carry sacred water and soil and will reach Chakapad after attending mass awareness programmes in the length and breadth of the state. More than three lakh people will assemble in the three-day event. Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Govardhan Peeth, Shri Nischalanand Saraswati, RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri K.S. Sudarshan, VHP president Shri Ashok Singal and Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram president Shri Jagdev Ram Oraon will address the gathering.
