Orissa BJP'sshow of youth power
Youth for development is the new BJP mantra

The newfound confidence of BJP in the post-Bihar elections was further strengthened with a massive youth rally at Orissa'scapital city Bhubaneswar. The BJP President Shri L.K. Advani said, ?In five-decade-long political career I have never seen such a huge rally of party youths.? Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) had organised the massive rally named as ?Yuva Jagruti Sanavesh? as part of Silver Jubilee celebrations of BJP.

A visibly happy Advani was with all praises for BJYM national President Dharmendra Pradhan and State President Bhrugu Baxipatra for being successful in mobilising the large number of youth under party'sbanner in Orissa.

Drawing a parallel with Jana Sangh'srally at narrow Parliament Street on cow protection five decades back, the BJP President said the venue of Bhubaneswar BJYM rally brings him the memory of that old rally, as both the rallies bear similarity of enthusiastic party workers spreading over long distance in narrow streets.

Shri Advani wondered whether the UPA government at the Centre could survive its full term. Criticising UPA, he said while Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is on the driver'sseat, the accelerator is there with Congress President Sonia Gandhi and the brake has been left with left parties.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, one of the speakers in the rally, mocked UPA as ?Ulta Pulta Alliance? and Shri Advani compared it with NDA on developmental platform.

Shri Advani said his party has succeeded in putting development on the centre stage of election campaign, away from narrow social divisions. Referring to recently concluded Bihar elections, Shri Advani said Lalu Prasad Yadav'sdefeat in Bihar assembly polls is a clear demonstration of voters? appreciation of development plank and rejection of caste and community approach of NDA adversaries. Among others, former union Minister and BJP national secretary Shahnawaz Hussain, another national secretary K. Haribabu, BJYM national vice president Sanjeev Chaurasia, popular TV star and BJP national executive member Z. Irani, BJP Orissa state president Jual Oram, senior ministers in the state government Biswabhusan Harichandan and Manmohan Samal addressed the youth rally.

State BJP leaders M.A. Kharavel Swain, MP, party spokesperson Nayan Kishore Mohanty, party secretary Prithviraj Harichandan apart from BJYM'sstate leaders like Bibbudatta Mohapatra, Harekrishna Khuntia, Pratap Mohapatra and Kalandi Samal also addressed the party'syouthful workers.
