Sewa Bharati, Andhra Pradesh, organised a function at Palamoor in Mehaboobnagar district to formally adopt about 100 children rescued from the malaise of child labour. Most of these children are either orphans or single-parent children. Justice C. V. Ramulu, presided over the function. In his address he said that society should come forward to the rescue of such unfortunate people in distress. He also said that one found it very heartrending to learn about the life these children had led. Shri M. Jagadishwar, District Collector, commended the service of Sewa Bharati and others who came forward to help the children. He said that the government could provide only hostel facilities to 12,000 students but there were more such people who needed hostel facilities. The philanthropists must come forward in helping this people. He also praised the Sewa Bharati for the efforts they are putting in to help these unfortunate students. Sewa Bharati has taken a big initiative to adopt 100 children and educate them. It has achieved this by motivating other philanthropists and like-minded organisations. Thirty children will be taken care of by Shri C.B.R. Prasad, a noted industrialist, 30 orphaned children will join different orphanages run by Sewa Bharati, another 40 children will be given residential education in Mehaboobnagar itself. Shri R. Nagaraj, president, Sewa Bharati, western Andhra Pradesh, and Dr Bhardwaj, district president, Mehaboobnagar, were also present on the occasion.
