Nihalchand Teja, Kshetriya Gorakshapramukh of VHP, passed away on April 28 in Kanpur. He was incharge of 57 goshalas. He was cremated in Kanpur. Born in Derawal (now in Pakistan), Nihalchand Teja migrated to India in 1947. He did M.Sc. from Kanpur. He became a Sangh Vistarak in Kanpur. He fought against cow slaughter and also went to jail for agitating for cow protection. He started a school in 1956, which was later turned into a goshala. He became Zila Pracharak of RSS in Etawa in 1959. After some time he joined S.D. College of Etawa as a lecturer and retired from the college in 1982. Inspired by Shri Ashok Singhal, he started working for cow protection in different capacities.
