84th birth anniversary of K.R Malkani

Mi were synonymous for over a period of time. The Organiser reflected his complete personality. His hard work had won a significant place for Organiser in journalism. He was my guru both as journalist and as a student in my college in Hyderabad (Sindh). I began my journalistic career from Organiser. We also did third-year OTC together in 1946,? said Shri L.K. Advani, former Deputy Prime Minister and leader of Opposition while remembering K.R. Malkani at his 84th birth anniversary celebration held in Delhi jointly by Bharat Prakashan (Delhi) Ltd, Deendayal Research Institute and Bharatiya Sindhu Sabha on November 19. He said that Malkaniji had an uncanny dedication to the work he took over in his life. ?About 36 Governors were appointed during the NDA rule and the person who achieved the highest popularity was K.R. Malkani,? Shri Advani said.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Bhai Mahavir, former Governor of Madhya Pradesh, said that Malkaniji groomed a number of journalists during his career as a journalist. His thinking was transparent. He witnessed the problems and struggle of journalism and politics. ?It is difficult to say that the politics we see today will become the cause of uplift of the country or its further decline. Today the country needs journalists like Malkani who can present the truth courageously,? he added.

Shri Kidarnath Sahani, former Governor of Sikkim and Goa, said that it was the sanskar of the Sangh that Malkaniji did not take even a single minute to leave The Hindustan Times to join Organiser. He was the Lt. Governor of a common man in Pondichery.

Shri Chandan Mitra, editor, The Pioneer, described Malkani as an ideal journalist. ?The way journalism is being commercialised and there is a continuous onslaught on views, the country needs journalists like K.R. Malkani. There is a dire need to spread his views among the new generation of journalists. Journalists should also try to imbibe his style of writing and thinking pattern,? he said adding that K.R. Malkani also tried to put forward the progressive views of Islam as he had done a deep study of the subject. Malkaniji always contributed to positive journalism with conviction, courage and values, he added. Former chairman of Bharat Prakashan (Delhi) Ltd and Delhi Prant Sanghchalak, Shri Satyanarain Bansal also spoke on the occasion. Shri Santosh Taneja, Managing Director of Bharat Prakashan (Delhi) Ltd., proposed a vote of thanks.
