Kendriya Karyakari Mandal of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram demands
De-list converts from Janjati list

The Kendriya Karyakari Mandal of Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, which met in New Delhi from September 5 to 6, has demanded de-listing of the Janjati people, who have embraced Christianity or any other religion, from the list of Janjatis and also stop extending benefits enjoyed by such people. Vishnukant, member of the executive committee and incharge of Vanvasi Hit Raksha Samiti, moved resolution to this effect before the Karyakari Mandal. The meeting was inaugurated by Kalyan Ashram president, Jagdev Ram Oraon. Kalyan Ashram organising secretary, Gunvant Singh Kothari, general secretary, Dr Prasanna Sapre and joint secretary general, Kripa Prasad Singh were also present at the meeting.
In another resolution, moved by Roop Singh Bhil, Kalyan Ashram described the move on the part of the Andhra Pradesh government to give reservation to Muslims as a danger to the nation. It appealed to the Central Government and Andhra Pradesh government to stop the move as it would open a Pandora'sbox. Moren Singh Poorti moved a resolution on the growing migration of Janjati people from villages to cities in search of employment. ?Big dams, industries and coal mines and growing unemployment are the prime reasons for migration. The government needs to take some concrete steps in this regard,? the resolution said. The Karyakari Mandal also expressed deep concern over the recent Manipur episode and the increasing insurgency in the north-eastern states.
The Karyakari Mandal appealed to the nationalist forces and social organisations of Delhi to welcome the Janjati delegates who will assemble in Delhi from October 6 to 10 to participate in the concluding ceremony of Kalyan Ashram'sgolden jubilee year. Over 2,500 delegates are expected to participate in the function, which will be addressed by RSS Sarsanghchalak, K.S. Sudarshan, Shankracharya, Vasudevanand Saraswati and Swami Satyamitrananda of Bharat Mandir, Haridwar.
