Restoration of old fee structure in IIMs Government surrendered before IIMs ?ABVP

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the country'slargest student organisation, has strongly criticised the UPA government'sdecision to restore the old fee structure of Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). Commenting on the move, Dr Jatin Mohanty, national secretary, ABVP said that the Central Government has surrendered before the forces that are out to commercialise education. Describing it as a dangerous symptom, Dr Mohanty termed the decision against the interests of the students. He said, ?For the last few years several multinational companies have been trying to control the IIMs. This move would benefit the MNCs.? He alleged that conspiracies were afoot to keep the poor students deprived of higher education.
