Sangh Samachar
Bapurao Lele Patrakarita Puraskar presented
This year?s Bapurao Lele Patrakarita Puraskar has been presented to Mamasaheb Ghumre at Jalgaon on August 31. The Shantabai Paranjape Smriti Mahila Patrakarita Puraskar was given to Smt. Shobhatai Bhagwat and Dadasaheb Apte Chhayachitra Puraskar went to Shri Hemraj Gupta of Panchjanya, Delhi. Shri Ravindra Shinde of daily Sakal was presented the Yuva Patrakar Award. Shri Mamasaheb Ghumre could not make it to the function because of sickness. Shri Sudhir Varhadpande of Vishwa Samvad Kendra accepted the award on his behalf. Shri Varhadpande read out the message sent by Shri Mamasaheb Ghumre who donated the amount of the award?Rs 51,000?to Vishwa Samvad Kendra.
Presenting the award senior journalist and former RSS spokesperson Shri M.G. Vaidya said during the freedom struggle journalism was a mission but after attaining freedom it gradually became a profession. If the proper tenets of the profession are not practised then there is a reason for worry. He expressed unhappiness over the diminishing relevance of the office of editor. In today?s scenario the non-journalist managing editor has become very powerful. Shri Sachidanand Joshi, Vice Chancellor, Shri Kushabhau Thakre Journalism and Mass Media University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh also spoke on the occasion. The function was presided over by Shri Vidyadhar Panat, senior journalist from Jalgaon. Dr N.M. Ghatate, president, Rashtriya Patrakarita Kalyan Nyas, Dr Avinash Acharya, eminent gynaecologist and president of Bapurao Lele Smriti Samaroh Samiti, Jalgaon, also spoke. Earlier in the day, a workshop on Nationalist Journalism was organised. More than 60 young journalists from Jalgaon participated in the workshop. (FOC)
Chakka Jam on September 12
Ram Sethu Raksha Manch has decided to observe Chakka Jam on September 12 to oppose the blasting of Ram Sethu. All bridges, flyovers and roads would be jammed across the country to register protest against the government move to hurt the Hindu sentiments. It was announced by VHP general secretary Dr Pravin Togadia in New Delhi on September 5. The Ram Sethu Raksha Manch has appealed to all countrymen to participate peacefully in this democratically planned jam. ?We also appeal to all the office-bearers and workers to allow and not to obstruct emergency services during the jam such as ambulances, other medical services, water and milk tankers and fire brigade. The jam would be observed from 8.00 am to 11 am. (FOC)
