Sangh agitation to expose Congress ploy

The UPA is actually working on a nefarious plot. On the one hand, it hopes to put the nationalist forces on the defensive. On the other, it believes, these shenanigans will divert the attention of the public from its corruption and ineffectiveness. It is soft on Muslim terror. So soft that Congress leaders take out processions, go on reassuring visits to Muslim terror hubs. People who advocate secession are allowed free passage, but patriots are targeted. This is what the RSS campaign would expose.

THE Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has decided to launch a nation-wide campaign to protest the UPA government’s vicious attempts to implicate Sangh workers in fabricated terror trials. This is an occasion to recount the activities of the Congress governments in the last 20 months to create the impression of the existence of a "Hindu terror" group in India.

In fact, the Sangh has nothing to fear, nothing to hide but it has a lot to protest and expose the UPA. There is not a shred of evidence against the Sangh. However, the UPA has an agenda. The Rajasthan ATS, the CBI and the Maharashtra ATS earlier-have all unwittingly advanced contradictory, self-defeating arguments.

For instance, in the Maharashtra probe, the RSS leader who is being accused by the Rajasthan ATS was a target of the alleged perpetrators of the Malegaon blast. The Hindustan Times, quoting the US National Counter Terror Centre last week said Huji, not Hindu groups, was behind the Mecca Masjid and other blasts. Such reports have appeared in other places also but the Congress is bent on chasing the chimera of Hindu terror. This is obviously part of its vote-bank strategy.

The CBI is on record that there is no link between the RSS and the investigations into terror blasts. Yet, a section of the Congress leadership is carrying on, alluding to a RSS hand. The motivated reports about "Hindu terror" is a figment of imagination. First they propounded the canard, now they are desperately looking for evidence. It will not stand judicial scrutiny, but by the time the case is dismissed the damage would have been done. No RSS leader was interrogated by the CBI. In fact, the CBI has admitted this. At every stage the Sangh cooperated in good faith.

But what is intriguing is the orchestrated campaign to defame Hindu organisations, Hindu leaders, saints and Shankaracharyas. To please vote banks, there is an attempt to undermine the Hindu ethos of this ancient nation. In this, the ruling party and its cohorts are playing an active role. Ever since the UPA came to power in May 2004, it has acted in a manner totally unsympathetic to Hindu sentiments and sensitivities. A series of actions including the arrest and humiliation on flimsy grounds of Revered Kanchi Shankaracharya is one of them. On the move to destroy Ram Sethu, the Central government’s affidavit in Supreme Court questioned the historicity of Ramayana and Sri Ram, thereby exposing its sinister intent and hurting the Hindu sentiments. By creating a separate ministry for Muslims, earmarking budget funds for 190 so-called Muslim majority districts for special development, offering Muslim specific scholarship, financial support, tuition fees, special recruitment and admission quotas in elite jobs and institutions like the IITs and IIMS-which are all denied to the Hindu youth-implementing the recommendations of Sachar Committee and Ranganath Misra Commission reports in the sly and allowing Islamic banking, the UPA is busy creating the pre-partition mindset.

It has declared madrasa certificate equal to the CBSE. Its divisive agenda is too long to recall here. Simultaneously, by every possible means it is trying to disappointment, frustrate and dispirit the Hindu majority. The government does not seem committed about fighting terror that has claimed over 10,000 lives during its tenure. Almost all the terror attack investigations in the past seven years are stymied both for want of evidence and political will. But it is working overtime to implicate the RSS, thereby the Hindu society in some way or other in a so-called terror conspiracy.

We have seen its prelude in the Malegaon blast probe 20 months ago. Then it was the Maharashtra state ATS. The CBI and the Rajasthan ATS are the new props. Then it was some fringe Hindu organisations based in Pune which were accused of hatching the conspiracy. Now they are hoping to involve the RSS. The Malegaon investigation has not made any headway. The accused are still languishing in jail. The trial has not started. The accused have not even been given bail. The charge sheet is not ready. This is the tyranny of a vindictive anti-Hindu government.

In this perverse system of crime and punishment, the terrorists are released for lack of evidence while the respected Hindu leaders are jailed, humiliated and tortured even though there is no evidence.

Most of the major bomb attacks in the last six years remain unsolved. The investigations have reached a dead end in them. Or are they being deliberately messed up? The ATS has not cracked the February 2010 Pune blast case. Nor has it solved other major attacks in which hundreds were killed like the Mumbai (July 11, 2006) serial train blasts. The record is the same with all other terror attack cases. Pending investigations are the major blasts in Jaipur (May 13, 2008), Hyderabad (August 25, 2007), Guwahati (January 1, March 25 and April 6, 2009), New Delhi (October 29, 2005) and Varanasi (March 7, 2006). But our premier investigating agencies are busy with tidbit cracker blasts in Mecca Masjid, Ajmer Sharif and Malegaon. Without concrete and convincing evidence all these are linked and attributed to supposed Hindu terror. On the face of it these are minor cases, still the entire energy is being wasted on them.

The most startling aspect of this is the ploy to paint Hindus as terrorists. And the attempt to paint all nationalist organisations in some way or other connected to extremist groups. The burden of this questionable ploy has discredited all terror-related actions in the public eye. This actually has presented an easy escape route and extra edge to Muslim terror and ISI-inspired anti-India propaganda.

Sangh is a peaceful organisation. It does not believe in violence. It is a patriotic organisation. Because of the good work it has done, in the last 85 years, it has come to be regarded as the greatest Hindu organisation. It is taken as the most authentic voice of Indian nationalism. The Sangh has always stood for national interest. As it has always, from the days of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru cooperated with the government during times of national calamity, external and internal threat to the country’s unity and defence.

RSS offered to co-operate on the probe on terror. Now, it seems this co-operation was taken advantage of to spread untruth and disinformation against the Sangh. The Sangh cannot take such deliberate attempts to damage its reputation. It is natural that the Sangh will with all force at its command resist any attempt to defame and demonise the Hindu Society. It will not tolerate any political mischief to weaken the country and derail the fight against terror, in the pursuit of minority vote.

In a country with over 80 per cent peace loving, law abiding, democratic and modern minded Hindu majority the fable of Hindu terror will take time to sink in. So the Congress is doing it systematically. Going slow, but trying to create the atmospherics, through calculated leaks, highly publicised questioning of a few individuals. The CBI, the Congress run state governments and a section of the media are the willing tools in the Congress game.
